At 91勛圖厙, prayer is an integral part of the daily routine, fostering a strong connection to Allah and cultivating a sense of community among students.
Students in Foundation to Year 2 learn the basics of salat and wudhu during their Islamic Studies classes. This includes memorisation of basic surahs and understanding the importance of prayer in the life of a Muslim. The goal is to embed love for Allah (swt) so that worshipping Him becomes a pleasure and it is not seen as a burden.
Students in the Secondary School are given opportunity for completing their salaat in congregation in the musalla at the start of lunch.
We are blessed to have a Musalla on-site at 91勛圖厙, where our whole community can pray outside school hours, including Jummah prayers, alhamdullilah. The College Musalla is also used for various programs after school and is usually open to the general community to use for their 5 times daily prayers.
In accordance with the Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jamaaah tradition, students perform the Dhuhr prayer in congregation each school day, following the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) about the virtues and rewards of praying in jamaah (congregation). On Fridays, the students gather for Jumuah prayer, which includes the delivery of a khutbah (sermon) to provide spiritual guidance and reflection. These practices nurture spiritual discipline, unity, and the importance of salah (prayer) as a cornerstone of faith, ensuring that students grow with a balanced understanding of their religious and academic responsibilities.
